This was an adorable short which said more about loyalty and the power of friendship than a million bad TV shows and movies have tried to. Of all Pixar's shorts, brilliant as they are, this one has the most emotional impact so far.

While fluffy white clouds make fluffy puppies, kitties and babies for storks to deliver, a darker cloud just as joyously creates new baby alligators and other, less-fluffy babies. All of this is very hard on his faithful delivery stork.

Funny and ultimately sweet, I get teary-eyed watching it.

Simple and brilliant, though very short. A stage magician forgets to feed the bunny before a performance, and the hungry and rebellious rabbit causes magical mayhem and sorcerous slapstick all over the stage. The rabbit is completely endearing, and the magician is clearly responsible for his own misfortunes.

The Chubbchubbs was cute and funny. It's always a pleasure to see parodic inclusion of favorite science fiction characters. (Several Star Wars people, and the Alien, for example, are hanging out in the bar.) The plot twist re the identity of the chubbchubbs was predictable, but all in all this is a fun short worth watching. It was included in Open Season as a bonus disc..

A film of surreal amphibian escapades, beautifully animated! It begins with a turtle swimming through a pond, a nature scene with the feel of a Disney classic. in fact, the dialog-less film feels Fantasia-like in many parts. It sticks closely to the book (in a making-of feature, McCartney mentioned that the book's illustrations were practically a storyboard as they were) and nicely brings to life Weisner's soaring frogs.

Heartily recommended, especially to those who are weary of 3D and want to see some beautiful, traditional animation.

Paul McCartney made this short film apparently as a homage to the children's newspaper serials he read when he was young. The film beautifully captures the feeling of an old-fashioned children's book, filled with innocence and the sense of adventure. The frog floor show is entertaining, and the song is catchy.

In a more modern film, Rupert might be expected to take a more active role in the plot: his involvement pretty much consists of sneaking in, listening, yelling 'Look Out!' and telling his mum about it afterward. A modern retelling might also contain some hint of the motivations of the 'villains' a couple of cats and an owl who turn up at the show in an apparent attempt to capture or kill the frogs' (star performers? King and queen? Unknown...)

Still, if you relax and don't worry about the unanswered questions, this little short can take you back to childhood.
