Dr Who

An interesting fact which probably only Dr Who fans know, is that the very first episode was scheduled to broadcast on November 22, 1963. Unfortunately it had to be postponed til the next day because JFK was inconsiderately assassinated hours before it was to go to air.

In 2005 an episode sureppeptiously revealed that the ninth incarnation of The Doctor had been present at JFK's assasination.

(actually the last show I watched, a couple of hours ago, was an episode of 'Torchwood' (an adults-only-spin off of DW.))

For what it's worth, there actually were a couple of animated Doctor Who specials with David Tennant: The Infinite Quest and Dreamland. Been meaning to get the DVDs and add them to the database sometime, never got round to it.

A few of the lost 60s episodes have been reconstructed as cartoons, too.

Another fascinating scene breakdown.

Ten points for bringing up the multi-plane camera.

"The name of the very frist episoide of doctor who was an unearthly child which was season 1 episoide 1 which aired in the 60s."

And you're saying this, why? Considering that I'd said that the first episode was from 1963. Also the 'frist epusoide' is rather inevitably going to be season 1 episode 1.

Dog City

Recently bought and last night watched the 'movie', 'Dog City', released while Henson was still alive, three years before the series. It's very different in many ways: it's purely muppet whereas the series is mainly animation interrupted by, or interacting with muppetry. The seeds of the series are sewn in the film, and I must say I found it pretty damn funny. But my question is:

Does anyone possess and is willing to copy, or does anyone know where I can get the complete animated series of Dog City (or even parts thereof)? It ran for around three years, so there has to be much more than the 2 old VHS tapes and the one 5-ep DVD I've bought.

Cheers

According to Wikipedia, home releases for Dog City are limited.  It only mentions the two VHS tapes.  Youtube, however, has quite a number of episodes up.  I'm not sure if they're region locked, and they're most assuredly not legal.

On another matter, I'm finding The Hub repeats of retro G.I. Joe to be quite fun to watch.  Unlike Transformers, G.I. Joe holds up quite well.  For my money, G.I. Joe Renegades is still the better show.  Thankfully, The Hub is sticking to the Sunbow G.I. Joe and not the wretched 1989 DiC series.

I'm with Toonboy on this one... umm, what?

Anyways guys, surely there's something out in the animation world that we could be discussing. Like has anyone seen Lorax yet? RottenTomatoes gave it a pretty weak assessment, but I don't know if that's the movie or that's the consumerist spin on Seuss story that's supposed to have a non-consumerist message.

The Lorax doesn't look horrid, and my main review source, Tv Guide, gave it three stars, but I find it weird that every single movie in the top ten box office is getting a rotten at Rotten Tomatoes.

Well it WOULD seem the Tenth Doctor has some animated adventures.  Color me surprised.
