There's one three star review and two two and a halfs, one of which is mine, and a rating without a review.  Then there's hers.  I don't see where she's referring to anyone in particular or even where the negativity is coming from.  That's actually a pretty decent score for an 80s show.

Seriously, I'm not even concerned about her perfect score reviews.  That's just the way she operates.

J-Kitty

I don't think Starlac was complaining about her relentless 4 stars so much as the fact as he feels that her indignation about other reviews are insulting to other reviewers, particularly when there is only one previous review.

Of course you could say the same thing about me complaining about her complaints, I suppose.

reviews

In my opinion, there is a difference between saying "I don't understand the negativity" or "I'm surprised by all the poor reviews for this"... and actually going out and saying, "anyone who gives this a one-star review is an idiot".

The latter crosses the line and, in my opinion, the former doesn't... or if it does, it falls into a gray zone where we have to question what kind of site would we be if we were to moderate the reviews to that degree? Sure, you can moderate down to the letter of the "law", but would you want to? What kind of atmosphere does that create on the site if you do that?

My measuring stick always comes down to this... is what this person saying likely to prevent someone else from writing their review? If it would--such as flames or personal attacks--obviously, those reviews have to go... but if not, then I'm more inclined to leave it and let the reviews flow.

At its core, this is a REVIEW site... we're have to agree to disagree in order to function.

Please note that I completely agree that J-kitty and anyone else for that manner, can write whatever review they want, I have no qualms with whether or not I agree with it or not, the essence of a review is after-all the opinion of the reviewer, not the reader.

The only thing I wish is that they left their opinion of the other reviewer(s) on the doorstep, or at least make note of it somewhere other than in their review itself, because it almost always looks a tiny bit petty in my eyes.

If I have caused any offense, then I apologise profusely.Cry

Ditto

Me too, though I'd note that I've often said things like 'Inkwolf put it perfectly when she said bla bla bla'. Essentially this is no different than if I'd said 'I can't believe Inkwolf would say something as stupid as bla bla bla', so basically it's hostility we want to avoid rather than purely referencing another review. Of course if someone were to say "I can't believe the negativity expressed about this film". and there are only one or two reviews, both negative, then people are getting dissed, even if not named.

It's a grey area, because if something has 18 reviews,l and I say, "I think this thing has been overrated", it's nowhere near as personal.

I can't believe there's no thread called "I can't believe..."

Shaun the Sheep (Aardman), please - surely!

Other shows I've been catching (not nescescerilly liking)\

Mr Men

Wolverine and the X-Men

(some Batman series with a supehero from the 25th century)

Roary the Racing Car

Rupert the the Bear

My favourite one on free TV at the moment is Skunk-Fu, but that's up already.

I can't believe our lazy web admin hasn't done more coding this week...

So is this is a new Batman... different from the previously existing futuristic Batman in Batman Beyond?

How many more Batmans are they going to be able to make?!

Batman

Maybe Batman: The Brave and the Bold?? It's based on a concept from the comics and it's generally more... campy and friendly, like the Adam West version.

Batman: The Brave and the AWESOME

I definitely recommend a look at Brave and the Bold. Like KloKei said, it's reminiscent of the old TV series, particularly in that it does not take itself very seriously. It's hard to describe, frankly... it's often cheesy, but it knows it's cheesy, and that alone actually makes it more cool. For example, in one episode, they had a random civilian woman scream in terror at the camera because the city was being attacked by the villain. Then they used that exact same screaming sound effect at other times in the episode (and, I think, the same lady), including one time when she was just screaming for no reason at all. XD

Loop: My favourite one on free TV at the moment is Skunk-Fu, but that's up already.

I too am a Skunk-Fu fan, at least from what little I've seen. But I'm also going to brag a little, here... because one of my animation teachers at my current college was one of the animators for the series! Guess I better get on writing that review. -_O

I'd actually place Batman: The Brave and the Bold just a touch below The Batman, which I place leagues below Batman: The Animated Series, naturally.  Seeing Batman with a different partner every time is just a little much, but TB&TB is still entertaining.  I like the Blue Beetle episodes because he seems to be the most developed partner.

I'm finding "9" more and more fascinating the more I think about it.

I have a feeling it just may be "the one" to dethrone The Fox and the Hound as my favorite animated movie.  Well.  I've actually said that before, to little effect.  We'll see.

Post-it stopmotion

This was evidentally someone's final project in animation. Simple in design, very impressive in execution.

Okay lonely_princess, slow down... :)

The new system is very different from the old one which is why that link no longer works. Also, when we shifted to the new site, there were a number of people on the editor list who hadn't been active for awhile so, rather than confuse matters, I didn't upgrade them to editor level on the new site. In hindsight, I probably should've just gone down through that list and asked, but I was pretty busy with the site upgrade at the time.

Anyways, since it would seem that you do still want to be an editor, I will upgrade your access now, but please give me until tomorrow to send you some instructions as to how new profiles are added through the upgraded admin system as it is somewhat different from how we were doing it before... although if you talk to Starlac and Toonboy, I think they'd probably tell you that it's easier than it was before as well.

I'm just about to leave the house to attend a big anime convention--Anime Evolution 2009--that's in town for the weekend, but I will make sure that I send you what you'll need to know tomorrow.
