Tinker Bell

As with all fairies, Tinker Bell was born of the first laugh of a baby which carries her to the magical world of Pixie Hollow. Upon arrival, the Queen guides her through a ritual which shows she is destined to be a tinker fairy--those that fixes things and helps makes what all the other fairies need to bring the seasons to the world. Tinker Bell however feels that she could be and do so much more. She even goes so far as to try and convince her nature fairy friends to teach her their talents so that she won't have to be a tinker any longer. Unfortunately, the harder she tries, the more trouble she winds up getting into...

There have been times when this movie didn't look like it was going to ever make it out of the studio. Reportedly to have two dozen versions of the script and a dozen different directors, when John Lasseter moved in to the role of Chief Creative Officer to Disney he described the film at the time as "virtually unwatchable."

There was talk for a time that Disney would be getting out of the direct-to-video business entirely and Tinkerbell would be shelved. It seems however that the powers-that-be decided to move forward after all.

This film will be the first of a total of four direct-to-video releases about Peter Pan's star fairy. One video to be released each year from 2008 to 2011.
