The Mysterious Cities of Gold
Esteban is a young boy who was rescued from a shipwreck near the New World in the 16th Century. Determined to discover the secrets of his origins he persuades Mendoza, the navigator on a Spanish expedition to South America, to take him along. On the voyage he meets Zia, a young Incan girl abducted by the Spanish because they believe she knows the location of the legendary Cities of Gold (she also has a gold medallion similar to one Esteban has had since he was a baby) - and Tao, a boy who claims to be the last survivor of a lost, advanced race. Together with Mendoza and his assistants Sancho and Pedro, they search across the New World for the Cities of Gold.
