Super Rabbit
Bugs is a test subject in the laboratory of a scientist who has invented a Super Carrot, which, when eaten by Bugs, gives him Superman-like powers. Except the effect is temporary and he has to replenish his strength by eating them rather frequently.
Bugs flies off to Texas, to tackle someone he has read about in a newspaper clipping - the dreaded 'Cottontail Smith', who seems to have pathological hatred of rabbits ("If there's one thing I hates more than one rabbit, it's TWO rabbits!")
| Mel Blanc | ... Bugs Bunny, Cottontail Smith, Narrator, Horse, Texas Rabbit |
| Richard Haydn | ... Professor Canafrazz (?) |
| Tedd Pierce | ... Observer |
In a rare gesture to the opposition, this is obviously a parody of Fleischer Studios 'Superman' cartoons, which were running at the same time. Though, interestingly, Marvel comics actually beat Warner to the punch by about one month by releasing the first of their unrelated but similarly parodic 'Super Rabbit' comics (the last of which would be published in 1963).
The short is available on public domain discs. Disc shown in merchandise is: Australian, region free.
