Shamanic Princess
The Throne of Yord, a mystical painting that supplies all the magic to the Guardian world, has been stolen. Tiara has been assigned to bring it back.
This is more difficult than it sounds for many reasons. The thief is Tiara's former love, Kagetsu. He has stolen it in the hope of rescuing his sister (Tiara's dear friend Sara) who has been magically sucked into the painting.
What's more, the first Guardian sent to retrieve the painting (Tiara's friend and romantic rival Lena) has taken up Kagetsu's side, and will oppose Tiara with her considerable magical powers.
Tiara must find a compromise between her duties as a Guardian and the needs of her friends...and she faces a far more dangerous enemy than she ever could have realized.

The anime starts in the middle of the battle, leaving you to pick up bits and pieces to figure out what's going on. It ends at Episode 4, then goes into prequel mode. Linear-thinking people (or the confused) may be happier watching Episodes 5 and 6 first. You will spend less time wondering what the heck is going on.
