Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt
Panty and Stocking are two angels who were kicked out of heaven for bad behavior. They are sent to Daten City, a place located somewhere between heaven and hell. With the assistance of Reverend Garterbelt, Panty and Stocking seek out monsters to battle with the hope of earning enough heaven coins to get back into heaven. To use as weapons, Panty's, erm, panties transform into a pistol called Backless while Stocking's stockings transform into twin swords called Stripes I and II.

After the broadcast of Imaishi's previous project, Gurren Lagann, the show's staff went on a trip for some relaxation. Under the influence of alcohol, they aired their opinions to each other, and the concept for this anime was created.
Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt is purposefully animated to look more like Western animation, particularly in the style of The Powerpuff Girls. Also, Chuck, the main character's dog, bears a remarkable resemblance to Gir from Invader Zim.
